S’mores are the best! Remember making them as a kid? Catching the marshmallow on fire and eating it anyway! Or burning the tongue on the hot melting chocolate…so fun! Are you ready to create S’mores memories with your kids?
Building the fire is the hardest part but I’ve seen S’mores made from a gas stove top and a candle! (It was a 3 wick-er.) One family assembled the S’mores on a cookie sheet and watched the oven broil the marshmallow. So don’t let the fire part stop you.
The magic is not so much how they are heated (although playing in the fire is a huge fascination for children) it’s the combination of sugary goodness! Marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate bars! YUM!
Kingdom Connection: As you hang out with your family around the fire (or stove, candle, oven) talk to you kids about how God has created us like S’mores. We are made up of several different ingredients (appearance, personality, talents) and when we are heated (go through trials, hard times, difficulties) we melt (change, mature, learn) into gooey yumminess (mighty man/women of God).
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4
