Do you know what mission means?
"An important assignment carried out for political, religious, or commercial purposes, typically involving travel"
As followers of Jesus, we are weaved into the Great Commission which is the greatest mission on earth. It is our purpose to love and lead people like Jesus did. Our family has a place in this adventure.
Is your family living on mission?
Mission can mean 1,000 things for families.
Here are three main ways your family can be on mission.
Pray
Give
Go
Every family can pray. Right now, you can stop and pray – join in with heaven and all the saints who believe the Great Commission will be fulfilled in our lifetime.
Pick 1 time in your day to pray for the lost and invite your family to join you.
30 second prayers go a long way in the Kingdom of God.
Generosity is one of the highest values in the Kingdom of God. If you aren’t giving to the poor, needy, or church body – start! Raising your kids to love the broken and hurting is one of the best ways you can show them what living on mission looks like.
Many of us are called to go. We don’t mean long term – even though maybe you are! We mean short term. There are thousands of mission organizations who are sending people around the world every year. They serve the helpless, preach the Gospel, and plant churches in unreached regions.
Mission trips was one of the best ways we showed our kids who God is and what He is doing in the earth. Go with them! Have spiritual experiences together. Being a family on mission is one of the best ways to strengthen relationships AND build culture.
