A brand book can always keep evolving

We just did a parenting seminar for a local church. After the seminar, a married couple came up to us to ask some questions. We found out they were a blended family, married a few years, six kids between them, and facing a ton of parenting challenges.
At the beginning of the seminar, I challenged all the parents to become learners about family. Same question I will ask you today:
What are you doing to become an expert father? An expert mother? An expert husband or wife? Marriage and family are the most important things you are going to do in your life. How are you becoming an expert? What are you learning?
When we talked to the couple afterwards, the dad said, “It’s amazing to me I have never thought of that. I’m in information technology so I am always studying how to be better at my work. I’m a personal trainer on the side so I am always watching YouTube videos on physical training and nutrition. But I never have thought about learning how to do family.”
