Kids Are Moldable and Forgiving
No matter their age, you can change the dynamic of your relationship with your kids. Start by simply telling them you love them and that they are amazing. If that doesn’t open doors, ask for their forgiveness and go out of your way to show them how much you care—do something over-the-top for them. Keep intentionally pursuing them and watch as the relationship improves.
It might feel like a long road, and it might take perseverance, but it is absolutely worth it.
If you feel like your relationship is impossible to fix, pray for God to give you the faith to see your relationship through His eyes—how He sees it.
One of the most powerful ways God reveals Himself in Scripture is as a Father.
The Bible shows time and time again how God, as the perfect Father, mends broken relationships with His children who have gone astray. His faithfulness is evident in every story of restoration and redemption.
As Jesus reminds us in John 16:33:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
This is a promise from Jesus that we can stand on within our families. He has already overcome the world, so we can take heart and trust in Him!
