God’s Ambassadors to Our Children

God’s Ambassadors to Our Children

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

God’s Ambassadors to Our Children

2 Corinthians 5:17-20

Look at the last verse. “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”

You are Christ’s ambassador to your family. God is making His appeal through you!

We ask parents, “What kind of God does your children see through you?” God is a god of love, joy, hope, and life. He disciplines us for our good. He is always looking out for us. He pursues us even when we mess up.

Like it or not, you will shape your children’s view of God more than anyone else in their life. Ambassador means “a person who acts as a representative or promoter.”

How are you representing and promoting God with your children?

Study the scripture to see how God represents Himself to us and then compare that to how your children see God through you. The work represent means to literally “re-present.” We are chosen by God to present Himself to our children.
