Are you sometimes discouraged as a parent? Do you sometimes think you are not the right person for the job? Would you allow us to speak into that discouragement? Or even better, let God speak into it?
Here’s what God has to say to you: I (God) handpicked you for the job of parenting your kids. There is no one better in this world than you to be their parent and I want to do all in My power to inspire and equip you for this most important job!
Do you believe that? Whether you believe it or not, it’s true! Before the creation of the world, God knew exactly the kids He was going to give you and the role He wants you to play in their lives. He gave them to you as His special gift to you and you are His special gift to them. You are created with unique gifts and abilities to be their best parent.
How does knowing we are handpicked change us? Because it is a major key to becoming a confident parent. We can be confident that we:
“He who began a good work in you (when He gave you your children) will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6. God began this awesome work in you and your family when he gave you your children and he will help you carry that work to completion!
So today and every day go with confidence that the God of the universe has handpicked you for the job of being the father or mother to your children! You can do this!
