Knowing the Teacher

Listen to Audio

“And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

There is a verse in Isaiah, which talks about when adversity comes our way. Our teacher will not hide himself from us. Teacher is capitalized in this word, and so the teacher means the Lord. I think it is so cool that it uses the word teacher in this passage. A teacher is someone who instructs and helps a person grow and develop. In this passage, it feels like it is saying that even in adversity and affliction the Lord will comfort you, but also encourage you and help you grow.

If you feel like you are in the middle of adversity, and you are not sure if there is a way out you can take hope in this verse.

Lastly, if you feel like you’re facing great adversity, then pray this prayer to the Lord…

“Father God, I trust you with my life, and I trust you with the big things I’m facing. Help me God to see you as my teacher and be near to me as I face these things. Amen.”

The great Teacher will not hide himself from you!
