Want a simple way to help your kids switch from being annoyed or jealous of each other to appreciating each other?
Want your kids to celebrate their differences?
Psalm 139:14 says, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
Each member of our family is made by God and for God. We all have unique gifts, talents and skills that will be used to advance the kingdom of God on this earth. Each member in your family has a specific plan for their lives given to them by God, a plan that only they can do!
One way we can help our kids to appreciate each other is by taking time to celebrate. We are each fearfully and wonderfully made by God. What does that mean for our families? It means there will probably be some differences.
Here are some examples of ways to celebrate differences...
“Hey kiddo, isn't it so cool that your sister likes art so much? I bet she will add such beauty to this world with the gift God has given her for art! “
“Hey, look at how competitive your brother is on the basketball court. That drive he has is inspiring, and one day I bet he will use it to be incredible.”
Simple affirmations about our kid’s differences can help change our kid’s perspective on each other. They start to see and appreciate their differences.
Celebrating differences is one simple step in helping your kids be best friends.
